Doin' the Mess Around!
In his first tournament as a pro on the PBA tour, Tim Mack's dream run has come to an end at the hands of Mika Koivuniemi in the Round of 8 at the PBA Miller High Life Open.
After Mack took the first game confidently with a 240/202 victory, Koivuniemi stepped up to take the next two games 235/200 and 270/222. With the contest seemingly slipping out of Mack's grasp, he regrouped to roll an excellent 257 in the fourth game. However, with a 9 miss in the tenth frame, the door remained open for Koivuniemi, who stormed home to equal the score of 257, taking the game. This left Koivuniemi just one win away from victory.
In the 5th match, victory seemed likely for Koivuniemi as he bagged the first four, with Mack leaving the first two open, and rolling a first ball miss in the third. However, this contest reached new heights as Mack came back to strike the next 6, leaving just a 3 pin defecit entering the 10th Frame. However, Koivuniemi held his nerve, and struck out to take the game and the match 247/233.
A big congratulations must go to Tim Mack on his fine results in this tournament. Beating the likes of Walter Ray in your first pro tournament is certainly a fantastic acheivement. I'm sure this is just the beginning of many more successes for this talented bowler. Well done Tim!!.
