Last night, Central Coast youngster Jarrod Lean bowled himself into the Gold Medal position in the 7th World Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship in Pattaya, Thailand.
With the second squad of boys to bowl this morning, which include Australians Jason Walsh and Cameron Jenkins, Lean put himself in with a great chance for the Gold.
Lean bowled games of 231 171 190 232 233 248 to finish with a 1305 series (217.5 average) and 1st position, 4 pins clear of second placed Wu Siu Hong from Hong Kong. Kun-Yi Hung from Chinese Taipei is in 3rd. Australia's other hopeful in that squad, Jason Belmonte shot a 1136 block, placing him in 28th after squad 1.

In the girls division, Australian girls were unable to secure a medal.
