EMERSON ZONE RESULTS

OK... It is obviously too late for this Emerson shield but to expand on Mick's point regarding patterns.

Would it possible for both zones to run an identical pattern at whatever centre holds the trials... Also would it an advantage to those teams that made the state final to bowl on the same qualifying pattern. Obviosly you will still get differing results due to the lanes and ambient conditions but would this rectify the disparency between the two zones. Just my thoughts...

Another thought... and it doesn't happen very often. Is there a centre capable of handling 16 teams, Mens and Women (from memory... and it's not that good, the biggest centre is 28 lanes which would mean the answer is 'No'). Or is there a way that we can have an Emerson final with all available teams playing. i.e playing over two days, playing each team once with positional. Have say 2 squads on Saturday and 1 on the Sunday with presentation afterwards. Long weekend i know... just an idea.

The discrepancy in patterns isnt an issue.

There was a large difference in scores.. thats all.

The 5 best teams on the day in each squad made it through. Thats all that matters.

I agree with your post. Surely with the large Melb facilities we can get rid of the zones completely and have an "all in" final in Melbourne.

It is about sharing David. The Centres that can not hold the Finals get to hold the zone finals, therefore Epping and co. will not get to hold the zones.

It is what the tournament is about, zones then a final.:)

Different centres are selected to host Emerson Zone, Emerson Final, Junior Shield, Youth Cup and Teams Challenge. It means a nice weekend away at some point, where you can experience different conditions and partake in responsible alcohol consumption! :)

There couldn't be an "all in Final" if you wanted Mens & Womens at the same time. There are 20+ centres eligable for Emerson Shield which would mean 40+ teams plus practice pair plus a spare pair in case anything goes wrong. As for a "standard" oil condition, it's a waste of time as it would play different at each centre anyway. While it might be perfect for one zone, it could be a disaster in another.

I for one enjoyed Mildura. Maybe not the drive... but the staff were great and the conditions made you think. The golf course was a little fast, and the pie shop was out of pies, but other than that it was a nice break away.
 
Thank you to my friends who came on to my defence, I am big enough and ugly enough to do this myself, I love to bowl on what ever is served up, no matter how easy or tough it is, all anyone can do is bowl 1 shot after another and knock down as many pins as they can, thats the challenge no matter where you bowl. I dont bowl many singles type events as I prefer to bowl and WIN with my mates.
Congrats to everyone going to Epping I am looking Foward to the challenge of bowling at a centre I have not bowled at before.

Lol. Now that he is a center manager, Rent-A-Friend are on his speed dial. Rumor has it that they are coming on board as our major sponsor for the final, well Rent-A-Friend or King Gee Work Wear.

Speak for yourself MATE !!! . . Some of us country folk can throw more than one shot hint . . And no its not about being stronger, younger or even being able to loop the ball, its all about having ... Ahhhhh?, (sorry was just having a country moment, I was just watching the wheat grow out the window), thats right an idea !!! . .:p

HA HA :D . . But seriously as country bowlers we work hard for what respect we get in the game and are tired of listening to a peanut who has supposeably done lots in the game just dragging us back !!!

Dude I walked into the bowl on Emerson weekend and had no idea that we had retired porn stars participating ? . . I did not know that the Hedgehog was a bowler !! . .:p:D
