I booked my return flight from Melbourne for the SPC and the flights have come down considerably. I got a return flight for $296 with QANTAS, leaving Thursday night returning Sunday night late.
A little tip for those who book through the net, most of the time it is cheaper to book 1 way at a time. If one of your journeys there or back is deaer than the other, give it a few days and see if they some down or not. The return flights from Melbourne have been over $300 one way for the last 2 weeks and only in the last 2 days have they come down to $147. I booked my trip there a month ago but have patiently waited for the return leg to come down and the risk paid off.
From a bowling point of view, QANTAS is a little more bowler friendly than Virgin.
