Still life in the Aussie lefty yet!! Great fightback, hope that your best 9 games are the ones still to come!

Well I put my thumb in a potato for a few hours last night (as suggested by an older gentleman at the bowl) and funny enough whilst my cut did not heal it certainly took some of the soreness away. I shot the 3rd highest block for the squad, picked up another cheque :) and now need a big set to give the top 8 a crack.

I wish I would have done this a few days ago when the cut first happened, you never know where I'd be sitting now. I certainly believe I had what it takes to have made the top 8. When you bowl these events you need to bowl well every game, every day. The shark scores will be low but I've managed to point up a Dimension off the edge with some effect. We'll see what happens

Ahh the old remedies still work out there George. Keep it up your looking much better now. Hang tough and focus, it's getting down to the business end of the event and now's the time to make a move. Some will fail and others will shine, you can do it George your a great player belive in yourself and it will happen for you.
Good luck ..... and ignore the pain and what's going on around you.

great effort George - next year maybe??

Good effort George, don't be discouraged there is always next year. You are good enough to be there.

Nice work George. It takes a lot of effort to even get to the tour trials and a lot more to make the cut. It's a shame about your injury. I can't believe that the old spud trick worked! (Never did for me!)

There are some fine bowlers below you on that list. I tip my hat to anyone attempting the tour trials. It's a big hill to climb in terms of players and conditions and a top 20 finish in that field is certainly respectable.

Good for you.

Cheers,
Jason

p.s. Tim Mack exempt and another thumbless player out there in Cassidy Schaub. Left-handed-two-handed; Now there's a minority! ;)

Tim was on the PBA Tour during the 2003/2004.....he didn't earn enough points that season to make the newly formed top 64 exempt players list for the 2004/2005 season Tim's been trying to get into the exempt field ever since.
Congratulations Tim... your time has come!

Well done George! Would be good to catch up and hear all the stories and experiences you will have had over the last week.

As Jason said, there are a lot of great bowlers below you and you would undoubtedly be proud of the effort! We here in OZ are!

and another thumbless player out there in Cassidy Schaub. Left-handed-two-handed; Now there's a minority! ;)

Cassidy uses his thumb, but throws it with 2 hands.. He also wears 2 rubber soled shoes (one from a left handed pair of dexters, one from a right handed pair of dexters.

He is also scared of the Chinatown markets in Malaysia after a recent trip getting lost in the chaos :p

I knew he threw it two handed with his thumb in (actually isn't that hard to do surprisingly), but the two rubber soled shoes? Now that's crazy.. Wonder how his knees are holding up or will hold up in a few years...

Congrats to George - great effort to make the top 20 and I am sure next year without the injury you could go all the way into that top 8.
