Anne-Maree wins GOLD for Australia

Australia’s Anne-Maree Putney has added to the Australian medal tally by winning GOLD in the Ladies Singles event at the III Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championship in Melbourne this afternoon. Bowling on the long oil pattern Putney got off to a shaky start in game one, but never looked back after game 2 with scores of 187,205,235,258,205,233 with a 6 game total of 1323 (+123) averaging 220.5 along the way.

Tracey Madden from Victoria also over come a slow nervous start to post scores of 174,153,227,205,225,178 for a 6 game total of 1162 (-38) averaging 193.66 to finish 10th.

Caroline Lagrange from Canada took the Silver 6 game total of 1289 and
Choy Poh Lai from Malaysia took the Bronze with a 1280 total.

What a great start to the games, Anne-Maree great bowling, also well done to Tracey for a great effort.

I am sure there wil be alot of medals still to come.
