2008 Coolangatta Tweed Tenpin's Christmas Classic

Sunday 16th November

All Times are NSW Daylight Savings Time

Squad A:
Check-in: 8:45am, Bowl: 9:00 am

Squad B:
Check-in: 10:45am, Bowl: 11:00 am

Entry Fee: $70

This tournament will be limited to 48 bowlers only, 24 in each squad.
Entries close when the first 48 paid deposit entries have been received.

Bowlers who pay a deposit will be allocated to the squad first. All other entries will be given second preference by order of entries received first.

Highest League Average as at 30th September. Proof of average may be required.

1st Place - $500
2nd Place - $300
3rd - 4th Place - $120
5th - 8th Place - $60
9th - 16th Place - $20

The tournament's handicap basis is 100% of 200. Bowlers with averages over 200 will be assigned a handicap of '0'.

Re: 2008 Coolangatta Tweed Christmas Classic

Congratulations to Ben Allen (me :D) who won the Christmas Classic today defeating 8 year old Jeremy Godden by 25 pins.

Ben finished 7th after qualifying with 1375 with Handicap (& Scratch) and went through the final rounds defeating Paul Sultana (Top 16), Jazna Kent (Top 8), Alan Adams (Top 4) and then Jeremy Godden.

During the Top 16 Ben finally cracked the elusive 300 in the 1st game of the 2 game match. He averaged 233 for the day.

Special mention to Mitchell Bird and Ben Fairbank who scratch averaged 248 and 237.5 respectively after 6 games qualifying.

Some other High Games were: Mitchell Bird - 269, Charles Huff - 268 & Naomi Allen - 259.
Out of the 56 entrants there were 38 entries that qualified over their entering average, to make the Top 16 you would have had to averaged 220.2 with handicap.

Don't forget to come along and watch the TotalBowling Circuit next weekend on the 22nd & 23rd November.

We thank everyone for bowling today and look forward to your participation next year in the 2009 Christmas Classic.
