Curious to know the effect on the number of entries for this tournament now it is for only the over 50's compared to the alternative of previous years (45 years and over).

cheers

Tony

They had about 60 entries last year total

Making the age 50 obviously cuts your entries by at least 25%-30%.

Could make the difference between a tournament running & not running next year with 25 & 15 entries in Mens & Womens Divisions as it was based on 40 & 24 entries respectively.

The age change keeps at least 1/2 dozen locals aged 45-50 out that would have bowled. Probably that many at least again from interstate had the age limit remained at 45. Thats just in the Mens section.

44 entries this year, Sensational TBA you've outdone yourselves once again.
Restricting tournaments back to over 50's not the best idea to date.
Could have left it at over 45's and then only awarded points to those only over 50.
Even though I still believe 45 is too young for seniors, ATBSO set their rules by allowing 45 and over to bowl in all their tournments even though the rest of the world say's 50 and over is the case.

If ATBSO ran this tournament as there own, anything stopping them not allowing 45 and over to bowl?

Maybe it wont be recognised by the TBA for various reasons, but who give a toss about them.

I am sure centre managers would have liked to see more entries in order to keep this alive.

cheers

Tony
