Not written Rob. However it has been used by NSW bowlers to gain access to previous Qld Rachuig teams. The Qld board of TBAQ opposes this method of qualifying. It causes a great deal of bad feeling when used in this way.

I know that, Andrew. The point is that as long as the rules allow NSW bowlers to try out for the (South) Queensland team, there is really no point complaining about it. Either tighten up the rules, or accept that it's going to happen.
Why did the the 50km residency rule get dumped?

Rob.

Basically Rob, we were informed by TBA that it did not apply.
The problem is that we still see Rachuig as an interstate competition, but we believe that TBA is more intent on making it an elite teams tournament.
Everytime we try to tighten up the eligibility rules we come up against strong resistance. It isn't helped by the fact that there is a great deal of ill feeling between Qld and certain TBA personnel.
