So I'm tipping this guy used 15 different balls or had a team of runners taking a ball from 1 pair to the next, depending on how fast the ball returns are I'm thinking he would be up to about the fourth pair before the first ball came back

Surely even the most perfectly drilled ball in the world is just a brick if the interaction between coverstock and lane surface doesn't generate the reaction required?

Important to remember that when using scotch brite to stick with the brand name (the scotch brites are made by 3M I think). They are manufactured to a standard that will provide a particular surface finish. Your garden variety coloured ones from the supermarket might look like scotch brites...

I still use the white, grey and burgandy ones but as Andrew said only on particle balls. Most industrial supply type shops will have them but you may have to get them ordered in and be prepared to purchase a carton (about 24 A5 sized pads). I like the SIAAIR pads as they tend to last longer...

There appears to be some info if you go via the www.tenpin.org.au website and hit the state link. The old Victenpins site does not appear to getting maintained any more. The state body probably should wipe it to prevent confusion
