Queensland’s Gold Coast is renowned as a popular holiday destination and based on the enthusiastic response and preliminary entries, organisers anticipate a record field of competitors in this year’s Queensland Junior Cup.

Open to all TBA-registered Junior bowlers 18 years and under as at 1 January 2016, the 2016 QJC offers a prize pool of over $11,000, including an exciting bonus of international flights for the top place-getters. The winners of both the male and female divisions of the tournament will receive return tickets for two to fly from the Gold Coast to Singapore courtesy of award-winning airline SCOOT.

Following its sponsorship of the inaugural QJC last year, the City of Gold Coast is also providing tangible support for this year’s event which will be hosted by Go Bowling, Ashmore on the weekend of 23 & 24 July.

“It’s great to receive the encouragement and support of the City of Gold Coast … the reputation of the Gold Coast as a popular holiday destination is a further drawcard for bowlers and their families to attend this year’s tournament, especially as it’s being held during school holidays,” commented the CEO of TBAQ, Gail Torrens. “We’re delighted to learn that entries have already been registered from several States, and that junior bowlers from New Zealand and Asia are also likely to participate,” she added.

Organised by the South Queensland Junior Tenpin Bowling Association, entries for the 2016 Queensland Junior Cup are open, with registration due by 20 July.
