The infamous Del Ballard Jr. Gutterball

He didn't look happy did he.

$100 to anyone game enough to walk up to him and go "that's life mate".

I'm not sure that it would cover a face reconstruction though.

Thats gotta suck big time. i wouldn't be happpy either when he only had to throw a 7 and throws a gutter. As Rowey said Ouch.

You know it is so nice to know that the professionals can stuff things up big time too!!! He is human after all!!!!!

That'd be equally, if not more shattering than the scenario which saw Don Genalo losing to Jimmy Pritts Jnr in the Southern California Open in the early 80's.

Genalo left the greek church (4-6-7-9-10) in the tenth frame, and thought he'd lost the final, but had miscalculated the scores and fired the ball down the lane, into the gutter on purpose: 5s -

He didn't realise that he needed to get two of them and he would've won the tournament - BIG OUCH

As an aside to Ballard Jnrs loss there in the clip above, I believe he came out and won the following week's tournament.

I believe they played that frank sinatra song in the background "that's life" immediately after the tournament
