BRISBANE (June 14, 2016) – CEO of Tenpin Bowling Association of Queensland, Gail Torrens, today announced a unique sport development initiative for Youth and Junior bowlers.
TBAQ is calling for nominations by Queensland’s network of Coaches and individual bowlers to participate in the SCOOT Junior & Youth Talent ID Pathway series – an exciting new opportunity linking numerous development programs run by TBAQ each year.
This year, Gail and the TBAQ team will utilise nine events for Junior and Youth bowlers at various bowling centres in North, Central and South Queensland. These events, including North and South Queensland State Team representative roll-off tournaments, State Training Squads and Primary & Secondary Inter-School Challenges will be held throughout Queensland commencing this weekend through to early September.
The new Talent ID Pathway will culminate in the selection of a squad of 10 young bowlers, accompanied by four officials, to compete in the Milo International All-Stars tournament in Kuala Lumpur early December.
Multi award–winning airline SCOOT is adding further impetus to this exciting initiative by providing return flights from the Gold Coast to Singapore for the squad, which will then travel to KL to gain valuable international competition experience and pit their skills against some of the best emerging bowling talent in Asia.
