About three years ago, I wrote a "Reading Oil Patterns" handout as a coaching/ sport psychology tool to increase bowlers awareness of this "art form" (as PBA Hall of Famer Don Johnson called it). This year, I am writing a number of articles for Asian Bowling Digest that will expand on this handout.
To my knowledge, there is not much written involving a "how to" guide to reading oil patterns, so hopefully this will help those that are interested in becoming better at reading the lanes.
