Again, I'd urge as many bowling fans as possible to ring the Fairfax newspaper group (Phone 02 9282 2833, then select Editorial) to pass on your appreciation and encouragement for more coverage of our sport to the journalists (David Sygall, Sun-Herald and Sebastian Hassett, SMH) …. Photographer James Brickwood has captured some excellent action shots of Belmo for these articles, and a word of praise to James is well-deserved too, I believe.
The mass media in Australia is often criticised for not giving bowling a fair go, so when it does I reckon we need to give them a pat on the back, in significant numbers, to reinforce the depth of our passion for bowling – feedback is vital in getting the message to the mainstream media that bowling has a huge following and is worthy of more coverage.
