300 AT INNISFAIL - A FIRST FOR SWITCH
THEY'VE “SWITCHED” ON TO PERFECTION AT INNISFAIL!
Australia's first installation of Switch GID Synthetic Lanes has just notched up it's maiden 300 game.
Innisfail Sugarbowl Lanes in sunny Far North Queensland is the countries first installation of the highly acclaimed Switch lanes, and local bowler Kevin Dowley threw twelve strikes in Tuesday nights [25/11] Smokeless Millions League to post the perfect score.
55 year old Kevin is one of the regions best bowlers carrying a 202 average and he has a string of awards to his name. Dowley has been close to the 300 mark in past outings according to centre proprietor E-J Starkey.....
.....“Kevin has bowled two 279 games in recent weeks and a host of scores over 250 – it was just a matter of time until he put it all together on our sensational Switch lanes....it couldn't have happened to better person frankly – and it's just the fourth 300 game since the centre opened many years ago. So a perfect game is a pretty rare thing for us to see here in Innisfail”.
The Switch modernising of the centre was completed in September, just in time for Innisfail to host the State Junior Championships. Since the new Switch lanes have been installed scoring conditions at the centre have become so consistent that many more major tournaments and events have been scheduled for the Sugarbowl, including the 2009 Switch Open to be held mid year.
