Andrew Frawley, one of Australia's most travelled bowlers, yesterday afternoon shut down some of Australia's best bowlers to take out the 2003 Queensland Cup at AMF Kedron in Brisbane.

Frawley, from NSW, shot a 14-1 record in Matchplay, averaging 227.8 in Matchplay to beat second placed Michael Little by 53 pins. Little, as he so often does, bowled a 286 in the final game of Matchplay to overtake eventual third placed Paul Trotter from Victoria. Little (9-6 matchplay record) averaged 231 in Matchplay, with Trotter (10-5, 226.3 ave) finishing a further 51 pins behind. Jason Belmonte was in 4th (9-6, 226.2 ave). Overnight leaders George Frilingos and Andrew McArthur finished in 5th and 6th places respectively. Frilingos had the highest overall average from the tournament (227.56 ave).

The matchplay was an interesting affair, with the lead changing at least 7 times throughout the afternoon, with Frilingos, McArthur, Trotter, Frawley, Little, Ashley Clarke & David Turnage all taking turns in 1st position. It was Frawley, who took the lead with 3 games to go who held on to win.

Congratulations to Frawley on a great win, and a big thank you to everynoe that showed up to watch the event. A fairly vocal crowd they were too. Probably the best atmosphere ive seen at a tournament in a while.

Well done to my friend Frawls, he bowled very well on Sunday and with 14-0 record in matchplay was unstoppable (except for the 1st game he lost to me :))

Also well done to Grayeme Labroy (Graham Williams) for running a smooth flawless tournament. Ian Nichols for keeping us up to dated on the scores and the staff at Kedron bowl. A big thanks to the locals who came down to not only support some locals but watch some amazing bowling from some of the best in the country.

See everyone at Bankstown in 4 weeks.
