Walshy unfortunetly didnt make the finals, Belmo now goes through to the knock out phase of the tournament where there are NO easy matches. This is one of the best fields EVER assembled for a tournament, good luck Belmo!

actually, format was a little different this year.... Bahrain did this back in 01? or 02? there was an "extra finals" for those not in top 36 (well really 32 + 4 next Qataris). So those in 33-46 played 12 more to determine top 4, then those 4 played knock out. Just playing for a much lower prize fund. I think Walsh finished 6th out of that bunch for US$250. Mohammed Al-Qubaisi from UAE should have been in this "extra finals", but wasn't... wonder why.

I also noticed that at the end of qualifying Aziz Jaffer from Bahrain tied w/ Roberto Silva. Rules says one game role off... but no results were ever posted. Aziz had the higher set during the qual rounds.... I hope it wasn't decided that way when the rules said something else. Belmo... Frawls... Walsh... any inside scoop on that one?

Also, yes Belmo made cut from 36 down to 16, but unlike last year where it was knock out from 16 or 8 can't remember..(or maybe it was bowl more cut to 8 then knock out the rest of the way)... this year it was 32 bowl 12 to cut to 16, bowl 8 more, cut to 5... then knock out between seeds 2-5, winners meet, then winner of that meet #1 seed.

I didn't see the scores from top 16 bowling 8 more to cut to 5.... but it looks like first 5 seeds were Nick Froggatt #1, then don't know who was what number but 2-5 were Tim Mack, Remy Ong Mario Quintero, and Lasse Lantila. Mario beat Lasse. Remy beat Tim. Remy then beat Mario to earn the right to bowl agaist #1 seed, and then went on the beat Nick.

Belmo, where did you finish?

Awsome bowling by all. And hopefully I will be there next year.
