2007WRMOskuPalermaa2.jpg The decision about the squad and overall lead on Day Two of the Kegel/USBC World Ranking Masters was made in the very last frame.

Trailing Stuart Williams, England, by 62 pins going into the last game, Finn Osku Palermaa (l.) fired the first 300 game of the tournament to beat the Englishman, who shot 235, by three pins for the day, worth 1,000 Dollar, and 40 pins for the overall lead after 16 games - eight games on long oil and eight games on short oil.

Palermaa, who leads the 2007 European rankings after winning two European Bowling Tour titles this season, added 1943 to his 1909 eight-game total from Day One for 3852 16-game total and an overall average of 240.75.

2007WRMStuartWilliams_small.jpg Williams (left) is second with 3812 (238.25), followed by the other two-hander, Jason Belmonte, Australia, with 3758 (234.88). U.S. National Amateur champion David O'Sullivan (below, left) posted an 1814 series today to move up one spot into fourth with 3712 (232.00).

2007WRMDavidOSullivanBillHoffman_small.jpg According to two-time U.S. National Amateur champion Bill Hoffman (pictured right), who missed the event due to a toe injury, but watched every game and supported the substitute, team mate O'Sullivan, adjustment is the key to success in the World Ranking Masters.

"I bet the top four overall will have bowled 25 shots over the first arrow, 25 shots over the second arrow, 25 shots over the third arrow, 25 shots over the fourth arrow, 25 shots over the fifth arrow and 25 shots over the sixth arrow," Hoffman said.

2007WRMMartinLarsen_small.jpg Fifth place belongs to Martin Larsen (left) from Sweden. The World Champion in Doubles shot 1861 on short oil, the third-highest block of the day, to leap five spots with 3689 (230.56). Day One and short oil leader Remy Ong, Singapore, slipped to sixth place behind a 1712 series today with 3681 (230.06).

2007WRMMarkBuffa_small.jpg Co-leader Paul Moor, England, had 1703 and fell to seventh place with 3672 (229.50). Rounding out the top 8, who after 24 games (eight on long oil, eight on short and eight on dual lane condition) will qualify for the single elimination finals, is Canadian Mark Buffa (right) with 3645 (227.81).
