Queensland assault on Rachuig 2009

GeorgeF

Hypercell = Hyperhook!
You heard it here first, the best QLD mens team ever to be assembled will win Rachuig next year at Mt Gravatt. No maybes, no questions, we will win on home turf.

Negotiations are in place to put togther the dream team as we speak, other states be warned!

We are going old school, down and dirty, it will a spectacle which will go down in history. It's going to ugly out there, I feel sorry for the other states but it is something that has to be done. WE WILL WIN

Funny, I haven't heard anything - have you Andrew??

Queensland bowlers, take note that once the details for the 2009 roll off have been finalised, you will ALL hear about it in plenty of time to decide whether or not you want to participate - the more the merrier, I say ;)

Damn, and I was going to roll off too

Maybe I missed something, but if team selection is 7 past the post or 5 and 2,how will this "Dream Team" be put together??

Cheers

Steve

This from george who was paying out on Rachuig.
Now you want to bowl in it.
Make up your mind george is Rachuig good or bad or is when you decide it is.

;)

Gee George
How can you be absolutely sure you will make the team:confused: no one is a dead set certainty unless it's on selection and just cause it's on home turf who says your going to win did someone mention money is that why your thinking of rolling off

Nothing like a new topic to get people posting again....

The fact of the matter is Queensland Mens have not won Rachuig (or not to my knowledge). Queensland has for a long time been able to field a team capable of winning but for whatever reasons, the team has never come to fruition. I would like to change that.

I just thought because of the home turf advantage and the reduction of cost involved for players the bowlers who usually don't roll off will. I am no gaurentee (never said I was) to make the team but all I can do is assemble the possible group of bowlers to roll off and see what happens. If the roll off process is long and equitable, the best bowlers will make the team.

I would envisage if the dream team comes to fruition it will win, unquestionably. I am not a big fan of Rachuig under its current format but thats not my choice. My choice is to win a tournament I never have won before and give it to the other states. With Rachuig being so expensive, I think the time is right for Queensland to go to town on the othe states.

I'm not alone in my quest, there will be some noticable names rolling off as well. It's going to get ugly, just got to try and convince the board to introduce some sort of 40 game roll off :D

Bring it on, Georgie baby. NSW will be waiting. :D

Who know's buddy, NSW just might bring along their Dream Team. Then your in trouble George. :p

If you look at the Rachuig rules.

Rule 7. (c) i. relates to 1st 7 past the post.
Rule 7. (c) ii. relates to 1st 5 bowlers automatic plus 2 selection.

Rule 7. (c) iii. states:-

"A State/Territory/Zone committee may choose to select there team from participants in 1 or a number of events held in their State/Territory/Zone. In that case the State/Territory/Zone committee must determine the number of members to be automatically placed and the number to be selected. The State/Territory/Zone committee must ensure adequate notification is made if selecting this option."

Does this rule mean a State/Territory/Zone committee can choose to select all 7 bowlers.

Man I hope you're right Rob because its the only chance we have. This top 7 garbage is for the birds. This year was our best result ever and I hope they go to selection for 2009. We had a poor turnout for trials this year with everyone basically paying their own way so it shows that they are certainly keen enough so why not give them another chance without the madness of a roll off. This is excellent feedback George, thank you.

Knowing how enthusiastic your guys are, will make it much easier for us to set budgets and conditions.

This takes away all the worry of can they afford such a massive nomination fee, how will they handle the endless compulsory practise sessions Gail is setting up, and should we schedule 20 of the 40 games in Cairns or would your guys prefer Mackay?

It is a great comfort not to have any of these concerns next year, and with the knowledge that you are going to lead the Queensland assault we owe you a huge vote of thanks. :)

Don't worry Steve and Morty, you are on my list.... just be patient grasshoppers, I have only contacted one person :)

Good idea Andrew, have some practise sessions well away from the centre we are actually going to bowl the championships at, thats TBAQ thinking for you.....how about a $500 nomination fee and a 3 game shoot out? nice work.... I expect nothing less than to hamper the bowlers who actually want to try out in 2009... don't worry about the bowlers, just focus on yourself and your needs...

and we wonder why Queensland has never won or fielded the best teams with board members like this....
